About Us - Your Committee

The Wellington Multiple Birth Club is run by parents of multiples who tirelessly volunteer their valuable time and efforts to the effective operation of our club.

President – Zaheda Davies
Being Mum to Isaac and Nisha has empowered me to do more and be more for them. They bring so much joy and love to our lives that the days go ever so quick. From Music mornings to Gymbaroo to walks to bike rides to just playing in the garden and depleting the raspberries or gooseberries in the garden, every experience is a new and exciting one for them. Being part of the Club has enriched our lives that much more in meeting others like you all who are such a source of support and friendship.
Vice President & Equipment Officer – Melinda Robinson
The Vice Presidents role is to help the President in undertaking their role. They are also a main contact point for new members of the club and take on additional projects as they arise. They organise the play group visitors. The equipment officer has the club equipment in storage at their home. They organise for equipment to be loaned out, collect the hireage fees and deposits, organise for the equipment to be returned and deposits paid back to members. They keep a record of all equipment and organise for new equipment to be purchased.
  Secretary – Melanie Kesry
Hi, I’m Melanie Kesry. I’m the secretary. I have 4 ½ yr old twins, Yasmin and Jaidan. They are heading off to school in Seatoun in November this year. I’m a Maths and ICT teacher but a stay at home mum since they were born. We came out from the UK 5 years ago and we are settled in Miramar at the moment. My husband is a kiwi, brought up in Auckland. We are doing lots of swimming, ballet and bike riding this term.
  Treasurer – Leaine Devine
The treasurer is responsible for the clubs funds and attaining funding from outside organisations. They deposit all funds from new members, annual registrations, and newsletter advertisers; paying all the fees for club activities, collecting receipts, invoices and equipment deposits, maintain the club balance sheet and issuing monthly statements for the committee meetings; applying for funding for the club and maintaining the savings account.
  Newsletter Editor – Nicci Coffey
Hi, I'm mum to 2 1/2 year old twins Archer and Toby. My husband and I live in Island Bay, and joined the club while pregnant. My fabulous contact person was such a support, that I was inspired to join the committee and see if I could help make the club even better for new mum's and dad's. Since I have gone from being a full-time mum to being a part-time mum/worker and finishing a law degree, to now working almost full-time, so I feel like I have had of lot of different experiences of mothering since the boys were born. Even though life seems really full, for some reason I said I would edit the newsletter from July. I had the idea it might be reasonably easy, as I worked for several years as a journalist. Now having seen how much effort El has put into the newsletter, I am in awe of her, and a bit worried about it! Fortunately, I have Tara Ranchhod and Kirsty Prentice helping out, but I know we need to have your support with ideas for stories, articles and contributions, without which we can't function.
  Antenatal Coordinator – Rebecca Lythe
The antenatal coordinator organises the two antenatal evenings according to demand. They develop lists of new members; organise the venue and speakers for the evenings and keep the notes up to date; organise the morning tea for the groups once the babies are born.
  Librarian - Jenny Brown
After being a stay at home mum for the past 3 years I thought it was about time I did something other than being mummy and a climbing post for my children. My partner Paul and I live in Island Bay and we have three boys; Harry who has just turned 3 and identical twins, James and Nicholas who are 16 months old. I joined the WMBC when I was newly pregnant with James and Nicholas so I have been a member for nearly 2 years. It is great being part of the committee now and being able to give something back after all the support and guidance the WMBC has provided me since becoming a member. Looking after the WMBC Library seemed like the perfect little ‘job’ for me as I have a passion for books and I love to have them around me. I read any chance I get, whether it’s a novel I just can’t put down to the Yates Gardening Guide! I hope you get a chance to explore what the WMBC Library has to offer.
  Social Coordinator – Karen Carey
The social coordinator organises the clubs social events such as the Christmas party, Lollipops visit, and social evenings for parents. They schedule the events, organise flyers for the newsletters, email reminders to club members and attend the events.
Fundraising Officer & Advertising Contact – Kirsty Prentice
the fundraising officer is responsible for fundraising and club discounts. They investigate and organise fundraising events including Positive and Negative Photographs, they contact people from outside the club to attain club discounts Librarian – the librarian looks after the library issuing and receiving back books, providing book reviews for the newsletter and taking the library to the antenatal evenings and play groups.

Website Coordinator - Trisha Trainor
Trisha joined the WMBC while she was pregnant, and found the club on the internet, while looking for antenatal classes. Trisha works in IT (software programming ) which she still does part-time. She enjoys scuba diving. Originally from Ireland, Trisha and Paul came to NZ on honeymoon and wanted to do two things —bungy jump and scuba dive. Two years later they returned, and have scuba dived to their heart's content
